About LLT

Until the end of the 1995/96 academic year the University of London organized evening lectures for External students studying for the LLB. These lectures were given by university law lecturers and tutors the majority of whom were full time academics at the University of London. The University decided to withdraw from organising such lectures with effect from October 1996 and London Law Tutors was formed in the wake of this decision. The aim of the new company was to maintain the best features of the University of London lecture programme whilst also improving upon that provision and making it available to distance learning students.

Consequently London Law Tutors will continue the University of London tradition of only employing university law lecturers and tutors, all of whom are (or have been) employed within the University of London, to now provide a series of twenty-four studio quality digitally recorded audio MP3 files in each subject (and an optional series of six tutorials). Additionally, in response to a perceived need for External students to get more writing practice, London Law Tutors has introduced written work in each subject (which is also available as a separate service)and an optional mock exam.

Whilst the pass pledge has been introduced to provide LLT students with an absolute guarantee that minimises the chances (and costs) of failure. External students, who enrol with London Law Tutors, will consequently have the unique opportunity of being taught (and having work marked) by university law lecturers and tutors who are all experts in their field. We strongly believe that no other provider of tuition for External students of the University of London LLB can make such a claim nor offer such a service.
