The Academics
One of the mainstays of University teaching is the giving of lectures,
at which an experienced teacher who is an expert in the particular
field states his/her own view of the subject, discusses difficult
points and draws attention to the weaknesses in the arguments
of others. This tradition is particularly important to the academic
study of law where students are expected to do more than simply
learn a collection of rules.
A university law degree requires students to develop their analytical
and critical faculties to enable them to apply the law and to
comment upon it. Students are consequently expected to consider
legal issues from different perspectives placing them, amongst
other things, within their intellectual, historical, social, philosophical,
political and economic context.
As the University of London LLB requires External students to
meet the same high standards expected of internal students of
the University we believe it is important for External students
to be taught by university academics who can offer such insights
and who are at the forefront of setting these standards. London
Law Tutors is unique amongst the providers of term time tuition
for External students of the LLB in ensuring that all teaching
is by university law lecturers and tutors, including the following
academics, all of whom are experts in their field, and taught
at London Law Tutors last year:
